Thank you for inquiring about the status of zoning in Belmont County. Currently, there are no zoning regulations adopted by the County of Belmont. As such, each entity has the ability to adopt zoning and permitting regulations.
 
The following communities have adopted zoning and/or permitting regulations:
 
-        Barnesville
-        Bellaire
-        Martins Ferry
-        Powhatan Point
-        St. Clairsville
-        Shadyside
 
There are no townships in Belmont County that have adopted zoning regulations.
 
If your project will occur within the corporation limits of the above communities, you must first contact the proper authority in that community.
